What is FSC®?

The Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) is a global, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of responsible forest management worldwide.

FSC defines standards based on agreed principles for responsible forest stewardship that are supported by environmental, social, and economic stakeholders.

The FSC® label signifies that the material used for the product has been responsibly sourced. In detail it indicates that the wood has not been illegally harvested; harvested in violation of traditional and civil rights; harvested in forests where high conservation values (HCVs) are threatened; harvested in forests being converted to plantations or non-forest use or harvested in forests where genetically modified trees are planted.

The FSC-label enables consumers and companies to choose goods in wood that origins from a responsible forest management, meaning that is has been sourced responsibly considering people and environment.
