Hults Bruk anniversary collection

We wanted to celebrate our 325 years of forging tradition at Hults Bruk by making a limited edition line of tools. Of course we had to make an axe but we also made a hammer and a knife as a tribute to Hults Bruk.

Anniversary Axe

The design is inspired by some of our favorite Hults Bruk axe models from the past. In the 1870 the ironmaster Ekelund ventured to America. He brought back not only new production techniques, but also hickory handles and axe designs such as Montreal and Yankee patterns. With time these became some of our most popular and enduring axe models. The head of our Anniversary axe, with a gross weight of 0.6 kg (21 ounces), is that of a classic Yankee pattern and the bit is finished with a premium grind. It is hand forged from Swedish quality steel, a hallmark of Hults Bruk axes.

Handle and leather sheath

We have fitted it with a traditional hickory handle that is treated with linseed oil. The sustainably sourced leather sheath is manufactured in Sweden from a vegetable tanned, full–grain leather. Included with the axe you will also find a key ring with a decorative and commemorative ship’s nail as a reminder of how our forging tradition began.

Knife OKW

This knife has been inspired by the great tradition, look and feel of our axes. It’s based on our most popular outdoor knife, the OK4. The wooden handle is made from hickory the same type of wood as we use for our axe handles. The blade is made from Japanese knife steel and has a scandi grind to make it suitable for a lot of different tasks. It works well with our fire steel and can easily be resharpened. The holster is made from the same Swedish, vegetable tanned, full–grain leather as the edge cover on our 325-year Anniversary Axe.

Hammer TRW

This 20-ounce carpenter hammer is a great example of what we do best at Hultafors, combing innovative and modern design with the long traditions of Swedish toolmaking. The hammer head comes from our carpenter hammer TR which we have combined with a more traditional wooden handle. We choose hickory for the handle just like the axes and our OKW knife.
